XML Credit
Reports Enhance Background Checks for Employers MERit Credit Systems has added XML interface options to its MERit Credit Engineä, (MCE). XML credit reports can be formatted according to the HR-XML Consortium data exchange standards for background checking and human resource needs. The MERit Credit Engine reduces development time for companies building systems for Experian, Equifax, and Trans Union credit report data. It provides database credit report storage through Microsoft SQL Server or IBM DB2, and avoids add-on transaction costs by providing direct access to the three credit bureaus. The MCE, requests raw data from the credit reporting agencies, converts it to a standard format, and inserts the report into the local SQL database for analysis and integration. The XML capabilities take the standardization to the next level, allowing the data to be shared by participants in HR transactions. The MCE is able access the credit bureaus via the Internet, data circuits, or dial-up, and deliver thousands of reports per hour The Credit Engine is also able to generate tri-merge XML reports in the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization's open standard, (MISMO) MERit Credit Systems, Inc. (www.creditengine.net) is a leading provider of server-based online credit report retrieval software for businesses requiring quick and effective system-to-system data access to credit information from Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union. The HR-XML Consortium (www.hr-xml.org) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to the development and promotion of a standard suite of XML specifications to enable e-business and the automation of human resources-related data exchanges. By developing and publishing open data exchange standards based on Extensible Markup Language ("XML"), the Consortium provides the means for any company to transact with other companies without having to establish, engineer, and implement many separate interchange mechanisms.
